Hi, I am looking around the forms after some time away. I am Kulay Wolf. Well I am only known that online but I rather not use my real name online. I have loved clownfish ever since I was a little girl which means I have been a fan of them for at least twenty years. I also like royal blue tang but do not have an empty tank that is big enough for one of those beauties.

I am trying to decide between live bearers and clownfish to put in my twenty high.

Welcome to R2R! If your wanting to raise the babies and it's your first time trying it, then go with live bearers... they are supposed to be much easier to raise and would be a good way to get your "feet wet".

I have done live bearers before but never got a salt water fish. I have wanted a clownfish before it was cool to want clown fish but I do not know if a twenty high is a good tank for a pair of clowns.

They would be fine. They dont need a lot of swimming space. Choose tank mates wisely though and keep them minimal if your plan is to have them breeding. The female can get pretty darn aggressive when spawning - well they can be mean any time lol. Mine bites me every time my hand is in the tank and they arn't even spawning yet!

If you want clowns, then I highly recommend a pr of ocellaris or perculas. They are hardy, generally forgiving of a newbie learning curve, and an epitomous salt water fish.
