Last question, I know some people use the DT water to fill their QT tank so it cycles quicker but will the ich carry over? Or does it not matter since I'm going to be using copper anyways?

DT water contains very little beneficial bacteria, as these bacteria are demersal, living on the substrate. You can transfer more bacteria by stirring up old sand, old filter media or live rock in a bucket in tank water and then pouring that slurry in the QT.
No worry about transferring ich, because the sick fish have already done that (grin).
