I have my awc setup done with neptune dosing pumps its very slow going thru the 1/4" pex line and eventually gonna change it to something more effective via the contols thru the apex but need to wait to try that for my waterbox 100.3. Ive been doing 20 percent wc every two weeks and want to know if how I have it setup if Im maximizing my exchange rate. Currently have my waste pump in my weir and my fresh water in the return pump in the sump area every line runs to a closet thru my attic where I store my freshsaltwater like 10 ft away(very small house) I thought this is the best way I could exchange but in anyones opinion whats best locations for fresh and waste lines in the tank? I get the setups could be different with everyones tank setup but curious on your location of the lines where the least "mix exchange" would be.

In any system where you’re draining and filling at the same time, you’re going to have a substantial amount of fresh saltwater lost down the waste line…

Best bet here is to just drain, then fill… this omits the issue!

Let’s remember that your system is circulating its entire volume between display and sump multiple times per hour, so most just shut down the return pump during water changes! (Or, manifold off the return to use it to do their smaller water changes!)
