I have a 58 Oceanic...and I am currently using 4 MaxiJets and a Seio! I am sick of looking at them all in the tank...I am thinking about trading them all in for 2 of them. Am I correct that all three of them are the same size?

Thanks fishes2889.

Stixbaraca, 2 of the 6025 should be plenty if you are keeping a mixed reef. You can always try the 6045 if you want. They push about 1200gph each.

So my final plans for my flow are this:
The 6025
Maxi-jet 1200
and the mag5 up from the sump
Thats pushing about 1300 to 1400 gph in a 33g tank. Thats around 38x overturn..... too much??

Steve :D

I have a 6045 on the way. Its controllable so I can use my 7095 multi controller. Im going to be moving one of my 6000's to a differant tank. 2 - 6000's was just to much flow for my 36" tank.

the 6045 is not controllable, the 6055 is; the 6055 should be out in another month or so.

JG will you be using just one 6045 for flow in your 58? Just trying to figure what I should have!
no, he has two 6000's in there now and is taking one out.

I must have got the numbers mixed up. I guess I have the 6055 coming then. When I placed my order I asked for the controllable one.

Steve, I had 2 6000's going but I had to throttle them back to about 50-60%.
Now that I have just one I have it on 100% but its just not enough for me. So I figure with the 6055 I should be just right.

i hope you realized you bought the $200 one (the 6055), the 6045 is the $110 one.

Marvin, how many did you get for your tank? I would love to see some pix.

Here is mine after installing the second one last night. Looks so much better than with the Seios in. I definitely see better water movement throughout the tank than the Seios. Some of the dead spots before now have polyp movement. Hopefully, that'll help with the STN on some of my SPS.

6025 Question:

My LFS had a sale and I picked up a 6025 (same as on-line price). The instructions indicate it has a fish guard you can snap over the out-take. Mine doesn't have one and I can't find a parts listing on-line. Is the 6025 supposed to come with a fish guard (like a lens filter with grating) to snap over it?

Thanks!

Mine didn't come with the fish guard either. I was told that if you go to the Tunze forum on RC, they'll ship one to you. I doubt that any fish or other animal can actually swim into that thing when it's running tho.

Thanks! I think you are right - but may get one in case I hook it to a timer to calm the sea at night!
