Did your temperature go up, even slightly? A lot of Turbo Snails are Cold Water Snails, and our Aquarium Temperatures slowly cook them.

Like how is this even possible :face-with-tears-of-joy:
I honestly have no idea lol. I think maybe I was misreading the Salifert tests for a while. I find the blue so faint in them that it’s really difficult to gauge the reading. So it was likely just creeping up slowly and I had tested for a few weeks.

A long time ago in a reef far far away my phosphate registered on api which meant it was .25 or higher. In my case it was 2.0 for quite a few years.
Nuts. I thought .5 in my tank was crazy high and heard others had .8-.9.

I know this thread is a year old. But I’m having this exact same issue mentioned here. Got a new CUC including 5 turbos. 3 of them are fine and crushing it. The other two have stayed in the same exact places. I’ll look at the tank one moment and they are on their backs like they’re dead. A couple hours again, they’re right side up again. And it’s only these two turbo snails. Everything else in the tank is doing great.

I’m going to take some measurements tonight.

Well, depending where the turbo snails are from, they can be either hottish water or coldish water, either 75 F, or 79 F.
