I find the sweet spot for that skimmer is 8 1/4", then you need adjust the main output (rotating large tube) until your bubbles are breaking at the cup connection point. Set you fine level adjustment to half way, then tweak that for the next couple days or so, until it levels off. I'm actually going to sell mine and buy a Deltec 600i (I love my Nyos, but I think I need something different?). Of course, I'm just in the thinking part and haven't fully committed to buying it yet, but I really want to.
Not understanding what halfway is on the fine adjustment screw as it goes down into the little pipe inside there... I'm pulling some nastiness out already, major improvement on my last skimmer...

The fine adjustment only goes so far, so just back it up to give yourself some room to adjust further. So turn counter-clockwise until it stops, don't go too far or you can snap it, then turn clockwise until half way. Hopefully that makes sense?
Yeah, it's a beast. I tend to run mine little wet. I made a DIY skimmate locker and I have to empty it every couple days and it's downright, nasty. Cheers!

How has kessil’s H80 worked out? Are you happy with it? I have a very limited amount of space and I am considering this light for the refugium. And your lid how’s that working for ya? I was going to go that rout but people were saying it blocks to much light.
I've had it running now for about a month... So not really sure yet... Got my intensity kicked up on it now... So hopefully some results here soon...

Here are some full tank shots. I am seeing growth from my sps, however slow, still growth. My zoanthids are growing. My lps don't seem to be doing much... I blame my nems for that...

Looking good! How are things with the PO4 levels? I am finding lanthanum chloride to be a real help there.

Ya know, it's been a hectic month and I haven't tested anything but salinity... But my corals are growing like crazy! Now I do have a rose nem that is terrorizing some of my corals... Are you interested in one by chance? I'll sell it to ya cheap... lol

Here's an update...
A couple of photos. I'm getting growth all over the tank. As you can see with the photo of the chalice... The tissue isn't growing as fast as the skeleton... It will catch up I hope...

So, I removed some pulsing xenia today. Traded it in for some zoas... My system has finally stabilized, I'm doing water changes every 2-3 weeks. Was able to knock down my high phosphate numbers with lanthanum chloride. And it's steadied out at .5 on Hanna checker. My corals have started growing like wildfire with the exception of my favias... They are just maintaining... I have it right where I want it... Next big thing will be a tank upgrade or a controller... I'm still out of work so I don't see it happening in the near future... Oh well... And I got my hoodie and duffel bag from partner drive, Its some nice gear...
