I had to totally redo my 55 gal tank,,,, the only things that survived my catastrophe are,,, bengai cardinal, condy anemone, maroon clown, snowflake eel, and my engineer goby,,,,i have some rock with mushroom coral on it, and they are bouncing back,, they are my first and only coral right now,,,i would like more info on them,,,,,
the fish i lost were a rock beauty angel, copperband butterfly and my mandarin goby,,,, a snail, and hermit crab,,, i am heartbroken,,, so im doing this thread to keep my progress documented with the do over,, thank you and any advice as to what i might could add would be appreciated,,,,
my picture was actually taken right before i lost the copperband,,,

sad thing is,,,, is that i did it myself,,,,, my mind was a wreck at the time,, and i usually dump water in when it evaporates,,, and with our well being down, and the tank needing water, my son always leaves almost full glasses of water around,,, so i dumpe em in,,, i grabbed a red plastic cup and before i could stop myself, it was too late

Well water? What the other poster was referring to was dissolved solids in said water. No offense intended, but your tank was heading for a catastrophic event anyway. I've never heard of anyone just dumping water from an unknown source in their tank. House plants maybe, but a reef tank, never. Your tank and fish deserve better. It might be time to start doing some reading. This forum is a great place to start.
