My 180 mixed reef is finally up and running, been about a month now. I transferred from a 125 which was a huge undertaking. I did suffer some loses, a 6 line wrasse, 4 chromis, a large pistol shrimp and my red brittle star which was over a foot across. The star would take food from my hand and was one of my early saltwater animals.
My yellow watchman mourned the loss of his shrimp buddy, swimming the new tank for weeks until I put a diamond goby in the tank. The bond that has developed in the last couple of days was the last thing I expected! It's like the diamond has replaced his shrimp! He sits on his butt and watches the diamond do all the work, just like the good old days.
Attaching a pic I took with my iPad, better pictures will follow once we get through the new-tank stuff like diatoms and algae.
