Currently have a 120w led mixed blue/bright white led (craigslist purchase- no idea gold the brand) for my 38g. Upgrading to 75g. Would getting one more 120w work? Or should I just bag the old fixture and get a new stip style light?

I want mixed reef. Right now I just have monti, zoa, procillipora and a couple bta's. Budget is definitely an issue.

Considering this

Search
AquaMASTER Timer-Control 165W LED Aquarium Light Full Spectrum Panel Coral Reef.

Ecotachi on ebay for $150.

Considering using the one I have now with this one.

I know it's an off brand, but a great price and I have seen good reviews

Those lights scare me, but in that budget I do think it is your best buy for the price because I believe that is even beating DIY prices. Which in my mind has to say something about the quality of the fixture.
