Wow wish you were closer to Texas, I would have you meet my 22 year old son. He is a type 1 diabetic so alcohol is a big no no for him as well so he doesn't do the club/dance hall thing. He is a big late-night peanut butter eater when his blood sugar gets too low...so maybe it is for the best that you are WAY up there in Idaho. :)

its actually going to be closer to 5k.. could be a bit less or a bit more..We changed the same a bit.. But Might do it again.. Will not order the Liner until Underlayment is down ,It Could get bigger again .

Wow lol so many to respond to, so if I skip one I promise it’s not on purpose I’m just sooooo tired, my last 24 hour shift was more like 68 hours. If you google clover dale wreck Boise Idaho you will see why. Huge huge fire ball from a semi truck and suv. So with that said as much as I can say, good grief friends drive safely I hate when they come and see me.

So @Brew12 and of course @Fin lol unless you have the yogi bear dvd collection like I do he has worn yoga pants lol. The only time I wear them is underneath pants when it’s cold because I freeze really easy.
@NY_Caveman lol they do bear it all which is why I don’t wear them unless I have a skirt or pants over them.

@Erica-Renee wow your pond reminds of those super mean koi in the ponds. They are like little versions of jaws. In addition to swim suites soooo many cute adorable ones out there now and on sale :).

@RobertP lol yeah sorry the peanut butter is a huge no go even the smell affects me. I have a strict ban on that in my house :). Texas is a very long ways away you realize that we could fit like 15 plus Idaho’s In your state:). I don’t even think Idaho has over 1,000,000 people yet in the whole state, it’s soooo sad. Plus not only that but we were officially ranked the worst state of 50 for drivers. I can definitely say that is very very accurate, drivers here are soooo bad.


Is it really bad that my new lights came in but I’m soo tired I can’t even open them? I should but gosh the couch and a pillow and blanket and warm jammies sound much more relaxing.

So first lol @Brew12 your so silly, but I was kinda hoping that if I hung all my Xmas lights above my tank, on fast disco mode, it could work. I would so put to shame clark griswald in Xmas. Vacation:). I did open the boxes and they are so pretty. Still have not found the camera on my new phone, I hate this dumb thing.

So I did my first water test and sadly (I say this sheepishly) it really confused me. The api instructions umm kinda don’t make much sense. So I’m curious isn’t Kh the same as alk? I was even more confused when I went to test my calcium. What I’m sooo confused on Also is I have not dosed my tank in two days. So I know my cal and alk is low. But my test said the calicium was 460 ppm and alk was 9. So I plan to take a water test to my lfs, do one in front of them, then have them do one and compare. So much easier having professionals do it. Also it’s super hard to judge where nitrates are at. Is 15-20 ppm okay, I thought that’s super bad !

Also for any of my friends out there who suffer from depression and want to hurt themselves, (serious note) please please don’t. (Sorry all my friends are on here, it’s my only outlet). Today my annoying brother hurt himself over a girl. Thankfully they worked on him as a trauma one, and he has to stay the night. But my lead dr knows how bad it would have hurt me to work on him. (Plus it’s against policy but we were soo short handed where it was just him and I) So thankfully they let me wait in the family section until done. But here is what he did over a girl, and he has kids. I love him but so wanna smack him. He almost died and needed four units of blood which luckily I’m the only one in the family who has his type.

I have his full permission, because maybe I can deter Just one person from doing this. If anyone ever feels this way there is help, and if not message me, call me, If my stupid phone works. I will be there for you, I’ll listen to what makes you sad and feel like there is no way out. So please just talk to someone anyone, don’t do what my (in a very loving way) idiot brother did. Yes I have his kiddos again, happy and sad because I can’t say why, it’s just not okay.

Sorry for my off topic paragraph, I tried to make sure it didn’t break rules. If so please forgive and just let me know i really tried to make sure it’s not violating anything. Also I do have his full permsion since we are family and also since I thank god didn’t have to put him back together.

Oh Sarah, so sorry you had to endure this. I know how this feels, as this is the way I lost my father. My wife almost lost her sister like this not even a year ago. You are right. Those that are desperate enough to consider this as an option, need to talk to someone - anyone - to get them through that moment. Life is too precious and the repercussions from that act has devastating effects on the entire family. I do hope he will now get some professional assistance to help him deal with his demons.

My water seemed way out of whack, I have not dosed in two days and it said my alk was 9 and my calcium was 460. Usually after two days it’s more like 7 and 400-420. So will take my test kit in and water have them test it and I will to see if I’m doing it correctly.

I also need to do a water change which is normally 60-90 gallons. As much as I do love my tank, somedays water changes are like dishes a necessary evil.

Alkalinity test kits should also be read differently than calcium test kits. With an Alkalinity test, you want to read the amount of titrant used when the color first starts changing. For calcium, you want to go up until the color completely changes.

Its great that you use the same test kits. They should be able to walk you through exactly what they look for during each test. I'm a firm believer that consistency is more important than accuracy when it comes to using test kits.

Confidence comes from experience. Or Tequila, but that is a little different. :rolleyes:

The more you understand about your tank, and the more practice you get at testing, the more confident you will feel about everything.
