Happy belated Birthday!! What are you now, 27?? I was going to ask if you had gone back to the UK to re-energize your British accent, but looks like that came naturally. Glad you had fun - you were WAY OVERDUE FOR SOME FUN!! :). Welcome back!

Hello,

Lol oh yes lol work is funny they call me a Brit lol and I love it. It takes them a moment to understand me again but oh well. Yes I was way over due, but wow internet international is stupid expensive. Plus I csme home and it snowed 12 inches of snow. No snow the entire year, Boise was from 45-60 degrees and I come home and snow lol. So cursed. But the tank is doing good, the jet lag is kinda messing with me. Thanks for the birthday wishes :) sadly I’m getting old lol. Nope I’m 28 now lol, I’m so close to 30 it’s scary lol.
But it was amazing to see some of my old flat mates and see my relatives. I can’t believe how expensive London is now, oh but it’s sooo sooo lovely.

Hello ,

Okay sorry delay I had to catch up things. So re doing some things on my tank. Does anybody think 8 wave makers that are 2100 gph is too much for my 240? I have a 4K gyre also and twin returns that are 4500 gph also. I’m about to increase my power bill :/

Just my opinion Sarah...... 8 would be overkill. Maybe you could add just 4 for starters. Personally I don’t think you’d need or want more flow than this will create. I’m curious to hear what other’s opinions are too though.

I’d start with five or six and make adjustments. Also add or take away until you find the flow you like. If they are adjustable and controllable you can really dial in some great flow patterns.

Hello,

I have four in there now with the gyre and returns as well. I keep having dead spots and doesn’t matter where I move them I create another one (probably rock work). But I keep getting (the red slime), sorry I Lol csnt think of the name (Cyanobacteria) sounds right but so wrong also. See what happens when I go to England i forget my brain. I was thinking maybe two on the back facing the front or diagonal and then three on each side. They are adjustable from 0-100 they have stream wave crest and tidal. So I can link them where two are wave or stream etc. if I’m adding right 2100 by 8 is 16,800 plus the gyre which is 3,000 (thoifht it was 4K but oops. So that’s 19,800 and then twin returns which are 3100 approx but they are maybe 50% so just a tad over 20,000 flow rate which I thought was min flow level.

Off topic for a minute Sarah. I PM’d several weeks ago. Did you receive it? I’d like a couple of pieces of your pottery.

Hello,

Okay I started to work on adding all the new pumps um officially and way toooo many wires. I’m so glad I am not an electrician. I’m now trying to commit to getting my tank how it use to be. The move even a year later just has been kinda crappy. Doesn’t help that I have had a few alk swings and calcium. Probably just need to test daily to keep it constant. I have not bought new coral for a while. Didn’t want new ones to die. But keep adding clean up crews. Been told it’s one turbo per gallon, well 240 turbos is like 957 dollars here in Boise. Plus they drown themselves :/ soooo I’ll keep adding but don’t think I’m going that crazy just yet. I want gha just gone i have a tiny bit but it drives me nuts. Have a new urchin and hopping they clean up also. Lol I’d post pics but it’s sooo embarrassing, one side is doing okay the other who knows. Getting some aptasia back and file fish won’t eat them since he eats with the other fish, which is frustrating. Any ideas how to make them love aptasia again.

Hey again,

So did more tank stuff today and wow not sure where I went wrong but my water parameters were horrible. My alk was 9-10 and calcium was 460. Nitrates were maybe 30ppm and phosphates were .25 to .30 between the second and 3 on the api sheet. Sooo changed all filter socks, changed filter pads, cleaned the skimmer just to see it. I started to clean up some of the turbo snail shells i leave some for crabs and I had 26 empty ones. At 4.99 a piece that’s little over 100. Good grief. But doing my best to get her back to ocean quality.

It will take some time but keep at it and you will catch up! Turbos are expensive up here too so I feel your pain

Hello a few times,

Here is a pic of the tank now. I lost some while in the Uk and need to add more corals and will once the water parameters are normal. But definitely not what it was. I have maybe 60 gallons of salt water that’s in separate jugs but it has been in them for 90 days or more. Pretty sure I can’t use it even though it’s pro salt water.

Hello,

I was given a challenge to make a large vase. So I did and it came out to be 32 inches tall and 14 wide. After I made it I was then asked what I’d do with it which makes me ponder. But I’m thinking I’m going to fill it full of skittles. Used 16 pounds of clay.

Hello,

So been working on my water which is finally back to normal. Which I’ll keep that way for a while then start adding coral. Was browsing the lof and wow sure miss the old prices. Any one have ideas how to get a file fish to eat aptasia again. Mine was awesome and he ran out, then ate the normal food. Now he ignores the aptasia, and I can’t starve him because of the others. Not sure if he will eat flake food, but if not maybe switch to flake food for a tad to get him to eat some others.

Correct. Feed foods he does not like, but the fish do and he will likely resort to the aptasia.
You could also try feeding his favorite food to the aptasia and he may eat both.
