I believe I have Uronema in the display tank, I been battling this for 7 years now tank is 600 gallons so I can't quartine my stock due to the sizes of them. So my problem is how to get rid of it in the display tank, I been using Formalin last month and it seemed to work for a while , but I open up a gate value that was closed for several months and ended up cloudy my tank then several days after that I notice it was back. So I don't know if it was still in the over flow box I had closed for a while. So her is my question hoping someone out there can give me an answer. I started formalin again for 10 days 1 ml to 10 gallons, can I also use hydrogen peroxide at the same time as using formalin. I understand I would need to dose twice a day at 12 hour intervals with the peroxide. Will it be safe to use both at same period? I know that it's not a parasite like ick because copper has no real effect on it.
Any advice would be appreciated this has been a nightmare!!!!!

Do not mix peroxide with Formalin and please to start with add a video and pics of the fish in question using bright white light intensity , no blue lighting.

I’ve probably mentioned before, Uronema is not an obligate parasite of fish, it normally feeds on bacteria and organic material. It is virtually only seen as an internal parasite of fish when they travel through the supply chain. The majority of established aquariums have Uronema in them.

I would NOT mix peroxide and formalin. I don’t know of possible chemical reactions, but used together, they would be stressful to the fish.

If you can get an inexpensive microscope, leave a bit of food inside a net in the tank for 24 hours, take it out and look for Uronema swimming around on a smear from it.
