Hello fellows reefers

I will be setting up my chaeto reactor on my 40 gallon this Friday. The reason is I am trying to lower phosphates without using chemicals. I do not overfeed and do a regular water change once a week and even after changing out around 70% moving home I still have some phosphate issues which has led to some problems. So my solution is to set up a chaeto reactor to help with nutrient control.

So my question is will my chaeto reactor kill off film and GHA? I have a lawnmower blenny that I am having the roughest time getting to eat anything but film algae and the occasional munch on GHA but I have tried with just about every food and he doesn't take.

If I start a chaeto reactor will the GHA and film algae disappear and would that cause him to slowly starve?

Thank you in advanced for any help

Highly doubtful cheato will outcompete either unless it’s significant size vs. the tank.

You can always adjust the photo period on the cheato reactor if it’s growing too fast.
