After much thought, I’ve decided to invest in UV light for primarily helping with fighting any protozoan disease as as well as well as utility in water clarification. Looks like aqua and ice cap or the two primary brands out there. But Aqua seems to be priced significantly more than ice cap. Any tips or suggestions that folks have would be greatly appreciated.

I have the Aqua 25w on a planted freshwater tank to combat reoccurring green water algae. The unit has been no fuss and worked well for my purpose. My only 'complaint' is lack of good mounting brackets available. I ended up making a making my own via 3d printer.
I have not used the icecap version nor have done a comparison, but would recommend/continue using the aqua.

You will need "heavy" exposure to eradicate ciliated proozoan parasites. Make sure you have adeqaute flow and wattage to get teh necessary exposure to do so.

For example, the exposure to kill ich is reported at 288,000 microwatt-seconds/cm2. That degree of exposure typically required a high wattage or long dwell time, or combination of both.
