I just got a uv sterilizer on Friday, and I noticed today when I put my hand in the sump, it was tingling. (I dont have any life in the tank thank god) I quickly shut everything down to figure out what the heck happened. When I opened my uv base, the glass lense that covers the bulb, was full of water. So my water had a current running through it, all my other equipment seem to be unharmed, but the thing I'm most concerned about, is that if that happened, does that mean all the bacteria that has been growing during my initial cycling is all destroyed? I need some opinions.

No, I think you or your Bacteria are safe as far as the electric current goes. Good luck in fixing the leaking UV Sterilizer though, hopefully no permanent damage to unit.

Cheers, Todd
