I'm looking for a few different things to improve my home-made AWT and water storage. I want to make sure that I'm buying the right things, though... could someone please help me find what I need?

1. I have a few RO tubes that I have to run in/out of my brutes. For my RODI brute I have a float valve that I installed at the appropriate height and ran the tubing through. It has washers and a nut to make the seal water-tight. I'm looking for something similar to that water-tight washer/nut seal that will just allow me to run a tube through the side of my brute. I can place it towards the top so it's not constantly submerged, but I don't want to have to worry about the water getting "too high" on my saltwater brute. So in short, just something that will allow me to run a RODI tubing through the side of my brute while keeping a water-tight seal. this can be some sort of connector too, if needed.

2. I'd like to put in a valve half-way down my brutes that will allow me to just drain water into a bucket. That's all that they will be used for... flip or twist a switch, water flows, close it, water stops. Obviously would also need to be water-tight because it will almost always be submerged and will just use gravity to force the water out. I feel like this should be an easy one, but I'm not sure which type is appropriate.

Thanks :)

For #2 you can definitely use a Uniseal bulkhead. I use one on my RODI container for the same purpose.

setup was easy:drill appropriately sized hole, install uniseal, shove in pvc, glue ball valve (I got all the parts from BRS)

for #1 it sounds like you want something like this:https://www.bulkreefsupply.com/1-4-push-connect-bulkhead-tank-adapter.html

Awesome - exactly what I'm looking for. Is this what would come out of the ball valve to connect the tubing?

I have this exact same setup but then experienced water leaking from the seam of the uniseal so I installed a rubber washer on the inside and outside of the brute. It was then fixed. I hope this helps!

Uniseals are the devil in larger sizes!!!

They work great up to 3/4". After that point the weight on the seal just from the larger diameter pipe makes them leak. Not to mention the fact the brutes are to thin and flexible that they flex also making the uniseals leak. They work great in smaller sizes, and not on brutes though.

Uniseals on my brutes in 1 1/2" always leaked, always. Didn't matter if the pipes were supported, not supported, didn't move, etc. As soon as the plastic warmed up, they started leaking.

I switched to schedule 80 bulkheads(brutes are thin enough that they will flatten out to tighten the bulkhead sufficiently) and have never looked back.

As for the top I don’t know if you need the fitting to be submerged and not sure if they would work for that but I used

And a float valve that’s saved me many times
