Is this good for the hang on the back filter. The pads are bonded aquarium filter pads from aquatic experts?

So I’m on the last couple of days of the treatment for copper how should I get the copper all out of the tank to start prazipro later? Also for the sponge could I put it back into the tank if I do 100% wc once the copper is done or is there a better way I have another sponge in the sump of a different tank without velvet should I use that instead? Thanks

Water changes and you can use something like cuprisorb or a poly filter pad to remove copper :)you dontyou don't have to get 100% of the copper out before starting prazi, you just want the levels low enough that the copper mixed with prazi doesnt deplete your oxygen levels

I got mine down to .2 before I started dosing prazi. Just remember when you do 50% water changes you're also only cutting your copper content by half. Two 50% water changes wont eliminate your copper. Just dilute it more and more.

So should I do smaller wc every day until it gets down to around .2

Did in total 50% wc added a little copper back into the tank having the copper run for another 5-6 days. Day 29 Friday is today but will be going a little while longer then will do some wc to get the copper down so I can start prazipro a few days after I get copper to what I need it to be

Methelyn blue baths can help with gill damage as well.

Be careful which pads you use, some can/will remove meds from the water. Old fashioned “sponge” is good because it doesn’t remove anything and gives the bacteria a place to colonize. When I remove copper in a quarantine I simply change 100% of the water. :)

Have you used methelyne bath what company do you recommend and how are tangs and wrasses in this bath?

Ok that’s good cause I know wrasses and tangs don’t like fresh water dips just was making sure they were ok going into that

So I have a hang on the back filter by marine land 200 and a sponge that is connected to a air pump. My fish are breathing heavy and I posted it and they asked if I was running a pump on it I said no because I have those two things to get oxygen in the tank so the water is moving. They said that I needed to add more flow to get more oxygen in the water is that right? Also the only extra pump I have is a tunze which only has one setting which is the highest setting for flow I think it’s to much flow in the tank the fish are getting tossed around a little and it’s hard for them to swim straight. Do I take it the pump out because I haven’t been running one since I have started qt and they have been fine.
