Vermitid Snail

Hey guys, I have a Vermitid Snail in the middle of my sunset monti. It casts its web over the coral but it doesn't seem to be bothering it except where the snail shell is. It appears to be growing. Any advice? Should I leave it alone or try to kill/remove it?

A lot of people say they're bad, some say they don't bother anything. Since yours is in the middle of a colony, i'd kill it.
Removal method from another forum: "I just use a hypodermic needle and inject some kalk paste into it. Kill rate is 100%."

Interesting. Wonder if that will burn the monti. Isn't AptasiaX similar stuff?

Ive read to superglue them shut. Id remove ANY of these pests immediately. I felt "oh its a new critter" quickly turn into "oh its an infestation." Lol they release nets of mucus to catch food. After their net was used by the snail, it lets it go into the aquarium. No big deal if its just 1, but imagine 50(i woukdnt doubt my old tank had atleast 50). You wake up to slimey corals EVERY MORNING from their mucus nets

I would agree with others that suggest to remove it. If you feel like you have the dexterity I would try and use super glue gel to seal him in there. The coral will encrust over the glue. If you can remove the rock and do it out of water that would be ideal, but if not you can use the super glue gel under water. I would practice on a spot of rock first to get a feel so you don't accidentally glue over the coral too much, though it will eventually encrust over whatever you damage anyways.
