My tank is a little over 9 years old right now. I rarely post outside of the dedicated forums but wanted to post this video of my tank as it currently looks. The lighting is Metal Halide and all the corals are from tiny frags that I let grow out over the last 18 months. Hope you enjoy the video!

Joe,

As always your tank looks amazing. It is awesome how fast the frags grew into colonies. One day I am hopeful to have a tank as beautiful as yours.

That is so awesome! That tank is my tank's new role model. Great job!

Can I ask how you treat phosphates? Where do you usually run and do you use gfo?

That looks amazing! I'm going for a mixed reef, but my next upgrade might just take this turn.

Many thank for the kind words. SPS tanks are my favorites, the colors on SPS are what I love.

Thank you, yeah it grew fast from January 18 months ago. I'm sure you can get your tank to any level you want. I don't do anything special I'm just very consistent in my husbandry.

Many thanks. I run no GFO. I stopped using it about 2 1/2 years ago. I use an ARID reactor for phosphate control, but in all honesty I stopped worrying about phosphates about 1 1/2 years ago. Last time I tested them (about 5 months ago) Phosphates were at 0.4 ppm.

Beautiful tank my friend...

Thanks gurumasta

Truly inspiring.
Do you have a tank thread we can learn from?

You mentioned consistency being one of the most important things.

Do you have phyto living in your tank?

Skimmer?

ATS?

Thank you for any info you can provide!

What was the tank past 18 months ago? You say it's 9 yrs old. Was it fowlr or did you remove corals to make room for the new frags?

Phyto doesn't really stay f0r long ion a reef tank. Beside it's an SPS tank with some LPS so none of the corals eat phytoplankton.

I run an Ultra Reef Akula UKS-200 Skimmer, and a ARID C-30 for phosphate removal.

WOWZA! Amazing! I'm not too far from LI...

I've been doing tank tours for 15 years, if you are out in the Port Jefferson area ever let me know.

As for your fish did you qurantine or play Russian roulette when adding them ?

I QT the yellow assessors, most of the others I do not. Anthias seem to do much better for me when not quarantined.

Outstanding :D !

Thank you.

I'm wondering this as well. Sick tank dude.

The tank before 18 months ago was still SPS frags and a few LPS. I was still struggling to get the tank back again after a big crash.
Here is the tank 2 years and 3 months ago months.

Here is the tank 6 years ago.

So no fish only tanks. The current tank above and in the video has been up and running since 2008, before that I had a 180 gallon SPS tank that was up for 6 years.

Here is a pic from my 180 gallon tank back in 2005
