Hi all,

Upgrading my tank from a Prostar 150 (4-ft) to a new 230.6 Waterbox. Unfortunately, patience is not one of my best virtues. I had ordered the new Waterbox on/around 04-August, and it was noted that the tank is on backorder and would ship before August 31st. I called Waterbox today after having the bright idea of googling their delivery timeframes and seen quite a bit of horror stories. The response back from Waterbox is that they do not have a ship window time for the order as yet. My question is, has anyone recently ordered a new tank from them that was backordered? How long did it take for delivery? I see quite a number of their tanks are on backorder.

In the interim, I have some new fish currently going through quarantine & have some bio media dosed with bacteria in a bucket to help boost the new tank. I don't want to use media from the existing tank as I've lost the battle with aptasia in it. Any other suggestions? My first fish (Gem tang) is going to finish QT within the next 6 days and i'll start with a school of anthias next. I plan on putting the gem in a brute bin with the existing media that's been cycling for a month - Note: I did use a few small pieces of rock from my sump that was clear of any aptasia and was buried at the bottom of the pile.

nothing good happens fast in reefing, and unfortunately this also includes backordered tanks sometimes 😆

congrats on the purchase though, Waterbox is great and I think they have some sales going on these days.

Thanks. I was saving for this weekend to buy all my gear to hopefully save a tiny bit. I was hoping to time it so i'm quarentining the new fish along with my existing (Gem tang, Purple tang, anthias, clowns, wrasses & naso tang). I dont want to put them back in the main display due to there being flukes introduced from a fish i bought from a QT vendor. Time and space is running limited with all the water changes to do and bins spread throughout the house.

Patience wasn't my virtue either. That's why I have a white cabinet instead of black, I didn't want to wait.

I ordered on 5th August with Website stating "Backordered. Estimated to ship by 31st August".. Got tracking number on 11th September which means it was shipped from Florida that day.. Received the tank on 18th September (I am in California, so Fedex took a week to deliver from Florida)

That wait would destroy me, I'm in the wrong hobby for my level of patience! Glad you all got your tanks, how are they coming along?

Likewise to others! Loving the overall tank but it’s been a few weeks now and dailing in the flow to make it quiet is near impossible.. it may have to Do with plumbing in a reefmat but I doubt it. The sump is enormous but they do a back portion of it cut out for the return water to drain before hitting the socks chamber. If you’re using it, keep an eye on it for detritus & food to sit. I see a lot of people complaining about dailing in the flow given the height of the main & emergency drain.
