Hi guys, I have had tanks off and on since 2008 ranging from planted, wild discus, wild Angelfish, and reef aquaria. I currently have two systems made up or three UNS R line tanks that I have quickly outgrown. After owning the UNS line I decided to find something that fixed the few issues I ran into and landed on Waterbox. I went with the 330.7 due to wanting something large enough to house my ever growing coral collection as well as larger fish. The tank should be delivered on Wednesday the 7th so I will try to do my best to document as I go.

Equipment list is as follows -

Waterbox 330.7
Luna-Reef 6018
ATI Straton X - 4 units
Vortech MP-40 - 4 units
Royal Exclusiv Supermarin 200 +
Royal Exclusiv Red Dragon 5
Royal Exclusiv X 40w Pump ( reactors )
Royal Exclusiv 5L and 2L reactors
Full hydros system
AquaUV 57W
300w heater - 2 units with dedicated controller
Pax Bellum N18

And my current systems!

Probably won't be a problem but I just remembered, I had a small burr on one of the fittings that caused a very small leak. I ended up seeing it after I took a picture and zoomed in. It cleaned up easily enough with sandpaper but I'd inspect all the fittings before assembling.

Ok thanks, I will be using metric x standard unions and changing everything out so I should be fine.

Following along!

Have been extremely busy. UNS R120 is now QT, other two tanks have been shut down. New fish are in QT, waiting on a Goldflake to get delivered next week and fish list will be complete.

Everyone has settled in nicely, and in QT for the next 45 days. Clarion is so small he hides behind the pipe….

Sweet set up with the QT! I have the same 330.7 and love it. Check out my build thread if you have any questions but I see you have it up and running already. 👍

Yes sir, thank you. Actually looked at your thread quite a few times when planning. Knew I’d have to pull the side cabinets and mount doors with brackets to fit sump and ATO etc so definitely stole some ideas. Only issue I ran into that was very frustrating was plumbing the UV inline with the return. Ran out of room, will have to revisit before fallow period ends and do plumbing over.

More work to do here, but this is the life support side.

Question to anyone who has input, with the heavy fish load - should I use my “extra” sump chamber as refugium or should I run two protein skimmers. I will be feeding 3-5 times a day between nori and frozen. I have since purchased and plan to add more fish. The system is roughly 300g total volume and will have ~ 40 fish. Many being large angels and tangs. I currently have a Royal Exclusive Supermarin 200, but also have the 160 from the UNS R120 I took down. Would macro algae keep phosphates and nitrates in check better than two skimmers? I will be utilizing a media reactor with rowaphos as well as carbon dosing using NoPox.

I run the Reef Octopus 250 on mine with a heavy bioload and have a fuge also. My system keeps up with the bioload till now.

I consistently had issues with phosphates and nitrates in the UNS tank, so was making me rethink a few things.
