I need to start moving a few pieces into the drag tank.
Your tank is looking great! Ton of good-looking corals filling up your tank!

Thanks. I have plans to free up some space and move a few pieces to a frag tank I currently have cycling. I have a few things getting a little too close and they aren't playing along well.

How do you like the k7 pro? I'm looking at the same tank and it seems like the k7 mini would be more than enough for even sps (based on par tests i've seen in 15gal and 20x20in tanks). So not sure whether to go mini or k7 pro

I love it. The K7 Pro gives a little more spread and is perfectly sized for the 20-gallon cube. I wish I saved some money and started out with this light.

Hi @bubbgee Here is the QR code for my K7 Pro. So far, it’s been working for me. I may tweak it by increasing the intensity over the next several months but I’m not sure yet. I’d recommend checking your current par values versus this one before fully implementing it. You may need to gradually transition so you don’t shock your corals.

Cool thank you!

Now if Noo-Psyche would release an acclimation setting for us...

I plan to incorporate kalk into my dosing regimen. My plan is to start with a lower dose and monitor my ALK since I'm also doing AFR. I'll then adjust my AFR dosage accordingly until I can find a good mix of the two. Hopefully, the corals will approve.

I dose kalk via ATO. Seems to be ok. I've seen some growth through that. I know it's inefficient if you're measuring dose, but since Apex already controls my dose of AFR, I didn't like to control alk/cal too much. I use the Trident to monitoring and reduce or add AFR as needed.

Had my first major issue with the tank. An alkalinity spike caused me to lose over a dozen acros, the 24k torch, a monti cap and parts of another monti cap and monti digi. I’m not sure if the spine happened due to an issue with the doser or with my calculations for the last batch of AFR I made. I have been able to get the alk lower and haven’t seen any negative signs over the past few days but I’m bummer. Some of those acros have been doing well for over a year. Just shows you how finicky corals can be and it doesn’t take much to tick them off.

Might be time to convince my wife to let me invest in a control system and monitor to check alk and some other parameters more frequently. I’m sure the investment is worth it considering what I’ve lost already.

I ordered another ICP test and it arrived yesterday. I plan on taking my samples the next time I check water parameters. I have a busy weekend planned but I'm hopeful to get it done this evening. Curious to see what the results will be.

Everything looks good. Interesting to see the differences.
