Im thinking of adding second mp40 to my 125. I wondered if a wavebox would give my water flow better variety and help to keep detritus suspended. I have a perfect space on the back wall where the wavebox could sit and not be noticable.

I think the mp40 woul dbe your best bet if you already have one of the wireless ecosmart drivers on your current mp40. You can do some really cool stuff with the ecosmart drivers. IMO, it wil also be easier to use and setup than a waveox.

It would definitely be more compact than a wavebox. I just wonder if the nutrient transport mode is as effective as the ebb and flow of the tunze

I personally am all about the clean looks of the vortechs. Plus I agree with xmetalfan99 in regards to the functions of the mp's. The vairety of stuff you can do with them is amazing.

It is nice not to have any wires in the tank. Still wondering if anyone with a wavebox can chime in?

they sold em all to get mp40's. I have 2 mp40 on my 90 and ntm has so much wave making i have to turn em down a little over half way to keep the water in my tank.

Haha. Youre probably right. I guess the lack of wavebox owners just answered my question.

I have a friend with a wavebox, he hates it. He states that the constant motor sound is annoying. I have an MP40 and love it...looking for a second.

Yup Vortechs are the way to go!! Is yours a wireless verison? If so i would think that you should take advantage and get one more and link them up!

Thats good to know. Ive never seen one in person but the videos of them look pretty amazing.

well i had to put it to use in my aquapod because there was no way i was gonna let such an awesome piece of equipment go to waste while i wait for my new tank to be set up haha. its doing wonders on the absolute lowest setting

Wow. your aquapod must look like a washing machine. We gotta get that new tank up!

cant wait. Probably gonna be done next weekend....although ive been saying that for the longest time

The only thing I hate about the vortec pumps, is how half of the pump sticks off the side of your tank. it just doesn't look clean to me. Putting it on the back of the tank looks a lot nicer but not practical for narrow tanks.

Yeah but as compared to anything else it is the cleanest thing you are going to get....unless you have like 4 or 5 returns and dont need any pumps.

What bothers me the most about vortech's is the amount of those suckers I see in the for sale threads. I always hear complaints about them being loud too. Have you had any problems with yours at all?

Yeah i have read a few people mention this but usually on the bigger verisons...but that is the only thing i have read bad. I have an MP10 and its perfect

Sometimes if they are loud its because they need to be cleaned or aligned properly. My mp40 isnt whisper quiet, but its easily drowned out by the sound of my return pump.
