Waveline DC12000 return plumbing help?

I think the size of the Waveline DC 12000 is 1.25", I was planning to split it off into 2 1" returns that go into the tank into 3/4 loc-line, is that going to be OK, or do I need more 3/4 in the tank? This is for 180 gallon tank 72x24x24, running herbie overflow.

So I have these devices pre-made for going over the back. They are 3/4, I removed the loc-line in the picture and loc-line spliter with nozzle on each side of the tank. So 1 return on each side of the tank, with 2 nozzle each. I also removed the barb fitting and using a PVC adapter going from 3/4 to 1" into a T which the pump connects to. At this point the pump connects to the T using reducer T. Out of the pump to the T is 1.25". Should add 2 more of the returns over the back with total of 8 loc-line in the tank, if I split them? Power heads I have 2 the Apex WAV. Nothing is setup yet so nothing really set in stone, other than these over the back returns I would like to use them as they were expensive and cannot be returned.

I think 2 - 3/4" returns will work quite well. Sound like how you did your plumbing is a good way. A bunch of flow can be pushed through 1 of those returns, 2 spit should be fine for a 180 gallon. You may need more powerheads based upon the coral you have.

Anyone else have any thoughts on this, is this going to work for my plumbing or do I need to have 4 3/4 runs in the tank? Each one would have 1" going to it until it drops to 3/4 or will 2 be enough?

Agree w/ MaiReef that two would be enough. However the advantage of 4 would be that you would create 4 currents versus two which IMO would be an advantage in that size tank and give you more options in creating flow.

Thanks guys. By having 4, I assume that pump will be more than enough? Each once of those returns in the picture of above would have to go into T that goes across the back, then down into the pump all using 1". Is that the ideal way to make it work using 4 returns?

I would prefer a Y, but BRS showed there isn't much head loss between a 90 and a 45. Still not sure if that would be enough flow without a Powerhead or 2. Really depends on amount of LR in the tank and how you stock it.

4 isn't bad. T'ing off like you said would work fine.

I also bought the nozzle from custom aquarium. I was going to set up a 125 the way you described and thought the 3/4" nozzle was a little small but now I realize the siphon stopper will also provide flow so the total diameter is probably around 1"
