Here is the scenario I am moving to a house that has a basement under the living room with hard wood floors . How big of a tank ( weight wise ) could I safely go without worrying about additional support underneath .

Thanks in advance

Tom

What is the expected weight of 120 gallon glass tank and wood stand with a 30 gallon sump fully operational? (100 lbs of live rock) My structural eng. what's some idea before he renders and opinion.

Thanks
Mike

A little googling could get that answer for you ;)

A gallon of seawater is 8.6lbs.
120g AGA tank weighs 230 lbs.
30g AGA tank weighs 48 lbs.
100lbs of live rock weight 100lbs (:p)
Wood stand, I don't know. Let's say 50lbs

So, let's do worst case scenario...

150g of water weighs 1290lbs, plus two tanks, stand and live rock.... That's 1718lbs give or take.
