Weir/OVERFLOW Drill Placement Question...

I am about to drill my 120g 48x24x24, (bean-animal) but curios, does it matter if I drill the overflow/weir at the back center of the tank or can it be placed at either the left or right side of the tank? Will there be any issues if I chose the left/right? Considering the sump drain inlets are on the left side...

Then I'd use either the left side (for plumbing ease) or the middle (flow and skim ability). Think about the flow pattern inside the tank at the surface. You want to improve the flow of surface water to the weir so it skims off surface contaminants and oily films.

Oh ok...then if having it in the middle serves a particular purpose, then I more than likely follow the standard protocol...
