Weird star like critters on glass

Seen these guys today...any thoughts on what they are? Not copepods...

They are medusa hydroids. They're disappear in time. Is your tank kind of new?

Hmmm - I have the same things that show up - my tank has been set up since July!

I haven't yet added any livestock other than a small zoanthid. So perhaps it'll be a free meal to whoever moves in first

I have livestock. HAHA! :) No meal for mine!

Give it time,the systems are pretty young still,you will see more stuff as it establishes it self more

Yes, you can "get/see" them at any time, but they are more frequently seen when a tank is new. I find them fascinating to watch.

It's amazing how many things live in our rocks.
I can remember spending so many nights in front of my tank in the dark with a little flash light looking at my rocks.

Yes - This is my first saltwater tank. It has been incredible to see all of these creatures just appear . . . amazes me.
