I haven't yet added any livestock other than a small zoanthid. So perhaps it'll be a free meal to whoever moves in first

Give it time,the systems are pretty young still,you will see more stuff as it establishes it self more

Yes, you can "get/see" them at any time, but they are more frequently seen when a tank is new. I find them fascinating to watch.

It's amazing how many things live in our rocks.
I can remember spending so many nights in front of my tank in the dark with a little flash light looking at my rocks.
