i don't think it would be a issue honestly not any worse than pvc glue or superglue... i have glued some pipes and put them in service on a fully stocked tank in 5 mins or less and never exp anything bad.....hth
Troylee,

You didn't address the toxicity issue here. Could you do so?

I'm just interested in hearing your response, and I suspect someone will experience such an emergency in the future, and would like your input.

The crack was so tiny that there was no way the integrity of the sump is affected in any way. It is a 2mm long hairline crack on the bottom of the return section away from any seams. The only way to replace the sump is to drain my dt and remove the sump from the back.

My old pump needed to be slammed against the bottom of the sump to start it, then to move it I dragged it, and then I was using a hand drill to install a light, I hit the sump with the bottom of it, and water leaked out a couple minutes later, so I drained the sump and used silicon to patch the leak, which worked for half a week. Then when doing a wc the pressure from the high water level caused the leak to restart, so I ordered some weld on and acrylic online, and that's where Iam now.

Its 3/8" thick where the leak was. There wont be any future problems, It was a minor leak and I did extensive research a while back on glueing acrylic b/c I was planning on diying my own sumps.

Good to hear It's holding up. I'm curious to see how it does in the long run.

Oh man, I will sleep better tonight. I found this thread after scouring for info. I got one tiny little drop of Weldon 4 in my sump tonight. I'm getting carbon ready now. Good to know it is similar to CA and reacts with water.
