I know I haven't updated my thread in a while.

I'll post more pictures of the new corals I've been purchasing the last month.

Some of the newer corals are:

(2) Space Invader Pectinia
JF Jack O Lantern Lepto
Sunset Fungia
Bazooka Joe chalice
BGM
Oregon Mummy Eye
Brians Baby Hybrid
Multiple frags of Z's & P's

Sorry everybody, I got lazy posting pictures to the thread and updating what's been going on with my 40 Breeder build.

Well, I've been meeting up local reefers and purchasing a few of their corals. I have also purchased a few from some of R2R sponsors.

Here's a nice few polyps I purchased from Matt over at Aqua Exotic, Belmont, CA a few months ago. Unfortunately there are no formal names to these polyps.

Matt was a little hesitant in selling me the mini colony, since it was all he had. Luckily, we ended up making a deal and I took these home. At first, the polyps were very small, almost like micro zoa's/paly's. After I moved them to a spot with a little more flow, they began to increase in size.

Just lately the pink stripped skirts started to show, but the golden plate color started to fade.

This picture I took with a little more blue led's to show the color of the skirts.

When my last tank (BC29) crashed, I had so many chalices. Unfortunately, the whole tank went under.

Well, I would like to start my collection of chalices again, so here are the few that I currently have.

Oregon Mummy Eye

I love this beauty. The flourescent green color with contrasting orange eyes is insane.

Here are 3 nice frags I picked up from my lfs, Neptune Aquatics.

Prism Favia (checkout the contrasting green eyes over the purplish base).

Undata (this piece will look sweet once it grows out).

This no name piece is one in a million (Look at the purple base with bright orange/red eyes. If you look at the eye on the right, it looks like its starting to get some green in it).

Sunset Fungia

I have been searching for a Sunset Fungia for the longest time. It just so happens that Blue Water Tropicals (new sponsor) was selling this piece for a great price.

On 10/3/12, I finally received a Space Invader Pectinia. I have seen this coral a few times in the forums and always wanted to purchase it.

Well, I finally got enough nerve to pull the trigger and purchase this from a local reefer.

I have to say, as soon as I opened the package, I was amazed. The flourescent green speckled flakes covering the base is nice.

Jason Fox Jack O Lantern Lepto

I have only seen this coral a few times in the forum. I never imagined that I would purchase it, but I couldn't pass on a great deal.

A great reefer posted a few pieces along with Space Invader frags. He even discounted each piece if both corals were purchased together.

Space invader... Again?! Dang man!

I couldn't pass up on All Delight's sale thread.

I originally wanted to purchase only the JF Jack O Lantern Lepto, but since he was discounting both frags if purchased together, I figured it was a great deal.

Now I'll have one to grow out and another one to eventually frag off of.

You have some cool stuff. I really like that space invader.

Thanks LVE. The Space Invader is one of my favorite corals.

My next favorite is the JF Jack O Lantern Lepto. It's a tiny frag (5/8"), but the brown maze like lines over a copper base is stunning. What helps the look of the coral too is the fluorescent green eyes.

This hobby sure is addicting. Everytime I go to my lfs or look in the forums, there is always a new coral I want to purchase.

Happy reefing!

This is a really neat build.

Question...what media do you run in the canister filter for the tank? Just carbon for water clarity?

The tank looks really good!

I'm considering a 20 long sumpless build with a canister. Any suggestions on an affordable skimmer to hang on the tank or inside it?

Darwin, if you look at page 7 of this thread, you will see the original color when I first purchased the frag.

I thought it was a Miami Hurricane so i bought it for $10. It was located in the $10 SPS frag tank.

The media I run in my Fluval 305 is Chemi-Pure Elite for carbon and GFO to lower phosphates.

Concerning skimmers, I only used the Tunze 9002.

I hate that it takes valuable space in my aquarium, but I need it for the fish waste. I have heard the Reef Octopus models are good to have.

Happy reefing.

Well that makes sense, because I was about to say the only ones I saw similar were the hurricanes. Guess it morphed to a pretty cool color on you!

Sorry, but its hard to get a fts. I am running a Kessil a350 and it makes my tank look tldim.

I will try my best and post one tonight.

Most of my corals are sitting in the sandbed.

I am debating on moving my rocks to rescape it.

Hi Wesley, do you have a FTS?
