Atlantic Blue Tang?

I’ve seen Atlantic blues in person this not one

Its appears to be a juvie so I’m having a hard time identifying it. The reason I say it’s unlikely to be an Atlantic blue is that the juvies are bright yellow and then the turn a royal blue. This guy doesn’t look like either of those or that he’s transitioning. Care should be similar to all tangs, algae and pellet/frozen food.

The shape of the face and shorter fins makes me think some type of bristletooth.

definitely something in the acanthurus genus, but too young to tell. maybe in a couple months it will morph to have some more marking. What did the store sell it as?

Oh ok then it sounds like it’s a juvi acanthurus nigricauda

+1 for this being the "eye line tang".
If that's the case, brace yourself for a monster fish that you will definitely need to upgrade tank for down the road.

I have a bristletooth since he was a juvie and he didn’t look like that.

I’d lean Bariene, though myFowler’s looked a lot like that when it was small, so one more possibility
