Morning guys new to the group! Excited to join and looking to learn new things question in regards to my sump I recently started using a filter pad in between my refugium and return pump but return pump area has gathered allot of detritus should I clean all that out or just leave it ? Have been getting allot of different inputs. Thanks in advance

Tank has been up and going for 8 months now bare bottom about 30 pounds of live rock in display and 2 large boxes of bioballs in the sump

While detrious is natural, I would either lightly siphon it or add CUC who actually deal with detrious to the sump such as Cerith, nassarius, conch and Bumble Bee.

Welcome aboard! I agree to clean it. it’ll just end up building up. But if your nitrates are at zero, it’s nothing to freak out over.
