I upgraded to 155 gallon 8 weeks ago and am dealing with algae? On my rocks. I believe it is bryopsis because on some rocks not pictured there are air bubbles covering it. Frags will have algae with bubbles on it too. I dose copepods every week and phyto 3x a week. Parameters are as follow

Ph 8.05
Alk 8.1
Mg 1445
Ca 454
Nitrate 8.6
Phosp 0.9 (it was 0.0 yesterday so I shut off the scrubber)
SpG 1.025

I do have a chaeto refugium.

Any thoughts on how to manage this.

That’s not bryopsis. The photos aren’t very clear but if it’s brown and bubbly you’ve probably got dinoflagellates and/or a slimy type of diatoms.

You’ll get 50 ways to fix it from everyone, with none of the methods giving you any relief quickly. Do a search for it you’ll get lots of info.

Nice corals!

I didn’t get any pics of the bubbly stuff. Those were on rocks on the opposite side of tank.

8 weeks in and you’ve joined “The Ugly Stage Club.” These look like diatoms and will go away on their own in time as silicates dissipate and your good bacteria grows and populates the tank. In the interim, you can beef up your CUC and gently stir the sand (gently!) so you don’t create a bacterial bloom. If it is filamentous then it might be dinos but I don’t think so based on your numbers. This is where you we play the game of Reef Patience! Nice corals!
