What are most people doing for QT?

I have normal setup. Like a regular tank. I usually do a quarantine for 2 weeks before introducing fish or corals.

Tank, sand, powerheads, filter, heater, UV filter, rockwork. I may be extreme, but I like my fish to feel comfortable. Less stress, less illness.

Have you read the article posted here? Linked below. There is another site that has vetted QT protocols. There are also vendors that will do it for you if you are not comfortable or want to invest on your own. With respect to the site I will not cross link.

Someone recently posted the Innovative Marine 15-gallon all-in-one tank on sale as a starter kit for $99.00 from BRS and elsewhere. I'm currently using that for my QT, with seeded sponges in the back chamber.

If I were to QT myself, I would follow the method that Ryan, Elliot, and Humble Fish put together over on Serious Reefs.

I just buy from Dr Reef these days and get healthy fish from the get go

I QT my inverts and corals in a regular set up: sand, rock, light, heater, HOB for 45-72 days depending on what they are.

I QT my fish in a bare bottom tank with PVC hides, air pump filter, heater, copper/ammonia tags, they go through a full QT process listed on this site.

I dip my new fish in Hydroplex upon arrival. Then qt for 2 weeks. I havent had issues but I wouldn't recommend going against protocol. Ive been reefing for 10 months and havent had issues. Thats not to say that it shouldnt be done for 2 months. Ive just been lucky.

By QT are you talking medicated or observation? I do observation and just keep a tank or two running amd only set up a tank for medicating if needed.

So far (in restocking my 150 gallon) I have QT'd a Tomini Tang, Longnose Hawkfish, and four different kinds of Butterfly as follows: Observe for a day or two; Copper Power to therapeutic levels and then hold it there for 14 days; water change and add General Cure; 8 days later, a partial water change and another dose of General Cure. (This is with a tank quick-cycled with bio-seeded media sponges in the rear chamber of an AIO tank.) Currently I've got a Raccoon Butterfly doing well in QT this way.

I believe you must transfer the fish into a completely new sterile tank if you only do 14 days in copper. Otherwise, you're risking reinfection as soon as it dips below 2 ppm before the 30d period is over.

I'm referring more to qt when getting a new fish.

Simple 10G, heater, HOB filter, some light, hiding spots, 2 small cycled rocks.

All get 30 days observation/feeding first.
Then it just depends hide things go.

I use the IM 15 AIO because it was super cheap. Inside the AIO chamber I have filter floss, heater, preseeded filter sponges from my display tank, a temperature and pH sensor, an extra airstone (which I can move into the display portion if needed), and the default return pump. I also have Nero 3 I have scheduled to turn on a few times a day to stir up any detritus.

It's all connected to my Hydros Launch for automatic monitoring, but that's optional.

This is actually an old photo - I've since added a custom lid and 3D printed a few extra parts to prevent anything from making it into the overflow and the AIO chambers, so it's now fully secure. A double egg crate worked fine too, though.

I add a bit of sand if it's something like a wrasse or sand sifting goby. Otherwise, I use PVC pipes, my own 3D printed decorations, or aquarium safe resin decorations.

For the QT procedure, I dose some extra nitrifying bacteria on the first day. I make sure the fish is feeding before starting 2.25 copper for 2 weeks (if I can transfer after) or full 30 days, retesting every 1-2 days with Hanna. I also do two rounds of General Cure/Prazi either before or after copper. I've done copper and Prazi at the same time once too, and 100% do not recommend it, unless absolutely necessary. That was the worst 24 hours I and the fish had to go through.

Once QT is completed, I either do a large WC before the next batch if I didn't notice any issues, or 100% sterilize everything if I had any sick fish, and start completely over.
