What are my clowns doing?

And why? They're just annoying the goby endlessly. They don't care if he bites them, they just say **** it. Is this some sort of fish suicide by cop?

They've all been in the tank for over a year just fine. And it's a large tank (150) so there's places for them to hang out. Hell the gobys lair is on the opposite side from their hideout.

One of them is just kinda laying on the sand bed now. Other is still at it.

The one on the sandbed is one that was/is dying from anatoxin poisoning. The other clown hasn't left its side during, even sleeps on the sand with the other. It was cute and sad.
But the one that wasn't sick seems to be the one with a death wish.

It was neat to see, but im not sure of if they do that naturally or not. I know mine are literally inseparable as when I took out the sick one for a freshwater dip, the other kept trying to jump out of the tank. Really makes me think this dude is suicidal because I honestly haven't seen this behavior out of any fish

Often fish will do it naturally to try and protect a sick/injured one if they think it will survive or if they’re bonded for life (this is What clowns do).
