So long story short I did a major cleaning in the tank this week... probably a little too much. Nitrate went from 15-20 to <2 or 5-10. Everyone is fine except a purple stylo doesn't look as full. Slowly dosing it back up.

Now I'm saying <2 or 5-10 because i'm getting major differences between salifert and red sea test kits. So per the topic of this thread, what are you using to test your nitrates? I'd like a third opinion or to be convinced that one of my kits is better then the other.

thanks..

I think that is a great question. I use salifert and have been happy. Like you mentioned different kitsl read a different. Personally Factoring a +or- range of accuracy between the 2 I would not be too concerned.

But I am also interested if there is a hands down best beside send water in for analysis.

Salifert. They all are just a swag. You can use a low-level mode on this and try and see the results 10x lower than normal.

In any case, none of those levels are a concern... dropping or rising quickly can be a concern.
