I have an IM Nuvo Pro 10, 25, and 120g. I have also had the 40g in the past.
The easiest was the 40. There is an excellent Tunze skimmer that fits like a glove, the return pump it comes with is excellent, and a single fixture will light it effectively. Front to back space is great for scaping. You don’t really need to dose; just a simple water change (I used the auto aqua AWC and just put 2, 10 gallons underneath it in the stand for weekly water changes.
my 10g is great but the single overflow is dangerous. I had an anemone block it perfectly 2 weeks ago.
the 20g is awesome but no room in the back for anything.
my 120g. I love it. Thick star fire glass, big compartments in the back, fits most modern equipment (big Tunze skimmer, COR-15, Refugium, etc). I’m very tall so working in the back is ok. It looks beautiful and it is simplified overall. Still, I’m a tinkerer and it adds challenges to that. Lots of cord management on one side. My Neptune Trident sits on the counter next to it. Dosing tubes and things coming off the back. It’s organized and neat but not as clean as a sump would be.
I chose it because my last sump tank was a 60g
my next tank will be in the same place but I’m plumbing it to a nice big open fish room below.
