This is mine after 7 months of growth under radion g5 pros running AB+ for 9 hours a day with roughly an hour ramp up and down.

As you can see, its mostly red/brown with a green/yellow base. Is this coloration normal?

they were at zero for a while, i had dinos which just started clearing up this week after I started feeding reef roids and probably upped the nutrients.

It grows a **** ton, it just doesnt show too much color variation

I think that is at least part of your issue. Keep NO# at 5 or more, and PO4 at .03 or more. I target NO3 10-25 and PO4 .1-.18

These can look different in a variety of conditions. Most have them be deeper red. To get the real rainbow coloration, they kinda need NSW type of building blocks and a lots of daylight. Not everybody likes them like this and some prefer the reddish dominant color.

So compared to everyone elses, the top of mine is not as red but more pale.

However, I just noticed today there is a large patch of gold/yellow near the green at the base! I will update with pictures soon!

There was a lot sold as fakes back in the day. This makes it even harder. If you have on that just won't ever color up no matter what you do, it might not be you. Everybody complains about lineage and names and all of that, but this was one of the ones that helped get that going so that people did not pay good money for something that would never look good.

heres my two baby nubs.

piece on the right was fully brown after living through a massive algae outbreak in my water column and basically got no light for a few days.

piece on the left was fully red when received a month ago, turbo snail knocked the frag over and it broke, has now converted to mostly yellow, the base peice stll on the plug is NEON yellow.

under a hydra 32, haven't measured par.
