HI I am using the below,
reactor 1 - with Reef octopus bio pellet media
reactor 2 - with seachem matrix
reactor 3 - with Seachem phosguard and Seachem matrix carbon in same reactor
media bag - with Seachem purigen

I was fully satisfied with all the above and looking forward to hear from the experts.

I guess it depends. On my nano i mix rowa with r0x carbon just for water quality/clarity and my tanks ability to have p04 raise fairly quickly. My red sea tank i just use r0x carbon

I ran a mixed reef 180 with a DSB keeping only softies, LPS and clams. At that time I only ran a reactor holding ROX GAC, as a safety net for allopathy, water clarity and potential odors. Once I started to add SPS, I had to reduce the NO3 and PO4 to lower levels, so I started carbon dosing, and ultimately went to a BP reactor using BRS pellets for the NO3 and some degree PO4. I fed heavily, so the pellets were not enough to reduce the PO4 to the levels I needed, so I added another reactor, using BRS HC GFO.
