What does it take to become a modorator on r2r and how do they get selected? I couldn't find anything online about it so I figured I would make a public thread so that information is out there for all the curious little guys like me!

Some of them are friends and family. I know that it is a thankless job, and ties up a lot of their personal time. You’d be surprised at who some of them are. There are many professionals here, and they do a great job trying to keep the balance.

It is determined by the staff and often not random

if you do volunteer, you are obviously not qualified

I’m assuming they’d want someone professional with a clean history; nobody with a history of trolling or making immature posts.

They’d probably also want someone who is somewhat credible because someone with a moderator title has the ability to subliminally influence others. They wouldn’t want a mod to be someone giving dangerous info etc.
