From carbon to phosphate removers, I want to know what products you use in your tank to remove the uglies in your tank. If you can provide tank size, amount used, product type, and longevity would be appreciated.

i can live without everything but my skimmer and my refugium. actually come to think of it we do. We dont' run carbon phosphate removers or any of that junk. total system is about 750 gallons.

i only use a fuge and skimmer and my tanks are crystal clear

GAC for 10days in the middle of the month (water change month), GFO in a Phosban Reactor (2 actually piggybacked). Every gallon of water that enters the sump area must pass through the skimmer. I would say If I had to pick one to skip I would say the GAC , it has such a short life span anyways.

Interesting thread!

Quick FYI for those like me:

GAC is Granulated Active Carbon
GFO is Granulated Ferric Oxide (phosphate remover)
