Hi just about an 1 hour ago bought an Gorgonian but further inspecting it I noticed a couple of things on it the almost look like red strings. Anyone know what they are? Wondering if I should trim the Gorgonian before putting in my tank.

hard to tell thru a fish bag but may be spaghetti worm which would be safe
Drop contents into a small container and try to carefully remove
IF spaghetti worm- reef safe

can also be red hair algae

Can I also trim the pieces below red strings? I’ll take a better picture once’s it out of the fish bag

Kind of hard to tell but it looks to me like it could be a red macro algae.

Here is another picture of it that might be better…
Macro or cyano (Not matted cyano bacteria)
This is a cyano macro:

Lightly pick off. Gorg only needs temperature acclimation. Medium flow and moderate light
