Im about 5 months into the hobby and I have a JBJ65G tank that’s been set up for about 2 months now, at first I got brown algae all over my rocks and now I’m starting to get green algae, it’s not hairy at all what’s causing it, is it the precursor to coraline algae

Any help would be appreciated

My tank JBJ 65g

Could just be one of many species of micro algae. Maybe nothing to do with coralline.

looks like standard green microalgae to me, not a cause for concern in a 5-month old tank. just ensure you have sufficient cleanup crew (trochus snails are awesome), and perhaps endeavor to reduce phosphates a bit. at 10 nitrate, you generally want ~0.1 phosphate.
