What is this impossible stuff?

My 29g biocube is infested with this algae. It's on the rock work, coral frags, sand bed, and back wall of my tank. I've tested and nitrates are less than 5ppm and phosphate isn't detectable. Is my tank consuming it faster than I can test for it? I've tried hand pulling it off and scrubbing it with a toothbrush and it comes right back. I've also tried chemiclean. I'm at the extent of my experience on how to deal with this. Dosing h2O2 slows it down, but that's it. The tank is about 6 months old. Thanks in advance for all the expertise and advice guys.

Chemiclean doesn’t work on algae, I would try fluconazole

I have 3 blue hermits and 2 nassarius snails. I'm waiting on my LFS to get some trochus snails in.

Keep an eye on those blue hermits. The darn things will kill your snails.

I've been worried about that. I keep supplying them bigger shells, so they will hopefully leave them alone.

I had trochus snails not do much to that long of algea. I bought 3 turbo snails and they cleared all my rock of gha. Was pretty insane. Here's a pic of the area one cleaned up within 24 hours. That center part was full of gha. My tank is cleared of all gha after about 2 weeks.

Astrea snails work well for me. They seem to eat a variety of algae and are long lived. Get something in there to eat that algae and it shouldn't be a problem.

Looks just like my tank at present - a mix of green hair algae and cyanobacteria. Reducing white lights helps with the cyano, and I've had the best luck with nerite snails and emerald crabs clearing away the GHA. Good luck!
