I have some string like things coming out of my Zoa colony. The colony is about 8 months old. Any idea what it is?

Now that the correct species of peppermint shrimp are captive bred, this is a much easier problem to solve! For years it was always a "will I don't even know if the kind I got actually eats aiptasia" but now, easy peasy. I was really pleased with how quickly mine went to work and essentially eliminated aiptasia from the system.

I had success with the peppermint shrimp method as well!

I have heard of the nudibranches but isn't it possible for them to nuke your tank?
I used them for a small aiptasia infestation. Best money I've spent on pest eradication so far. I think they wiped it out in about a week. I was hoping to round them up and re-home afterwards, but they all disappeared as soon as the aiptasia did.

For some reason when aptasia shows up in my tank it likes my zoa garden. I’ve had to use berghia nudis a few times in the past two and a half years, with great success. I haven’t had a problem in a while, it was back when I was constantly adding frags.
