What is this toadstool doing?

Any ideas about what this guy is doing? Has been looking like it was shedding for the past couple of weeks, then past couple of days it's been standing up tall and out like normal. Just walked over to dose the tank and saw it like this. Is it maybe trying to split?

Its doing what toadstools and most leathers do. :)
Looks very good and healthy to me. When it opens again it will look vibrant.
Looks like its just going through its cycle, maybe starting a shed.

Yeah but I was more talking about that pie slice in the middle -- that's a new thing to me.
