what is this?

Hi this is something i noticed on my torch and ive attempted to look online but havent been able to find anything similar to it

Has it always been there, or just recently?

Long shot, but it almost looks like GSP polyps that are closed up (similar to what we had in our tank)

To be honest I’m not too sure I just got this torch about a month ago and never noticed anything until the other day I noticed this darker patch. This tank has been going for a little over a year. I don’t dip anything but that may change depending on what this is

I’ll take a measurement when I get home tonight and verify. Im still new to reef tanks I just do water changes I don’t add any thing throughout the week besides food and reef energy every other day. Still not quite into dosing even though I probably should be

I second closed gsp, if it isn't maybe some kind of sponge?
