Hi guys, could I please get some help to identify this worm in my tank. Is it a bristle worm? Could it be a bobbit worm? Any help would be much appreciated, thanks in advance guys!

Oh yeah they're crazy lookin things lol... There are traps you can make. I'm pretty sure you can find them in the thread I posted as well.

Also just saw you're a new member, welcome to R2R!

Thanks! I think removing the rock is the best solution for now because I know where it is. If I try and set a trap, it might relocate to another rock or in the sand. Cheers for the warm welcome!

Yikes! I guess I will have to throw away this piece of rock. Or maybe I'll remove the rock and disininfect it.
Looks like a healthy Bobbit. Def a sneaky killer. I would remove the rock and put in small container/QT/Predator tank and try to trap it. Is it definitely in the rock?

Yeah, 95% sure it's in this rock. Been seeing it stick its head out over the past week

I would say you’re looking at 3 curtains. Curtain #1Bobbit
#2 Peanut Worm
#3 Earth Worm
If you could win a million dollars I’d pick
curtain #1

I’m going to say it’s not a Bobbit. Unless its crazy species of it. Where did you get your LR from?

I don’t know why everyone freaks out about these. I mean, get it out, it can kill your other inhabitants, but it’s been in your tank for as long as you’ve had your rock, it’s not some emergency to get it out. I would maybe set up a nano for it, they are fascinating creatures (if not I’m sure there’s someone here that would pay for shipping).

Because it not fun to know it’s in your tank especially if you have spent a lot of money on fish and other snacks for bobbits
