What is this?

Looking for an ID on what this whispy things are growing at the base of my leather? I came back from being away 5 days and day these.

Possibly hydroids.. hard to tell from that picture.. almost looks like gsp sprouting up lol

Hydroids? Are they considered bad?

They are but they normally go away without treatment also normally in new tanks.

Two little string tentacles is spionid worms, not sure that's what I'm looking at though.

Thanks for the input so far. I’ll try and describe it the best I can. It’s got a small stock with a head and about four or five “tentacles“ coming off evenly spaced from the head.

No the whole thing is reddish/maroon/purple
