Hi,

I will have my 75g tank mid September so I need now to choose all the material.

In freshwater, I remembered we needed to respect a ration W/g but I didn’t find anything for saltwater.

What models do you advise me? Redsea 90/115, Maxspect, Popbloom?
I need something to put with arm on the tank.
I saw some Maxspect Ethereal 130W but I read somewhere they stop producing them?

What do you want to put in the tank? FOWLR, SPS, LPS, softies, predator tank? Mixed reef?

It is my first saltwater tank so I will begin by something easy and increase the difficulty over the year.
I prefer to put a little more money for lighting to have what I need for later.

Edit: size 90x60x55 cm

Standard 75?
Full dimensions please.
Rimmed or not?
Clarify arms. You can put arms in the side or back.
Cross Clear or opaque?
Budget?
Growing plans i.e species?
Overall look.

Middle of the road but high-ish ( dimmable, don't forget the controller) light .
2 Nicrew gen 2 150 watts....
4 wpg....

What do you think about the Maxspect Jump MJ-L290 Blue LED (93W)?
If I take two.

I have a tank of similar dimensions and switching too 2 a8se and a blade. Got the blade allready and a xr15 and two 30 watt aqua knights on the side. Selling the xr15 and the aqua knight’s. I won’t spend 600 on nicrew, if you can get 2 a8se(basically xr30’s) for 350 and you will never need anything more again.

Thank for all suggestions.
I also looking something pretty quiet.
Do you trust lighting manufactured in China?

I think most, all? Lights are manufactured in china. I probably will run my a8’s no more than 50%. Not sure about noise but I don’t think the fans will be activated on these settings. There is a huge treat on here about these lights. I really don’t think it still makes sense to buy the big brands with these options available right now, look at the jecod dmp’s I have both mp’s and dmp’s and selling off my mp’s as I find the dmp’s better in every way, price, noise and convenience.

It is exactly what I realized. Everything lights come from here.
My short list

- Maxspect Jump MJ-L290 Blue LED (93W)
- Nicrew Hyperreef Gen 2. (150 W) N
No WiFi…
- PopBloom RL 90 ou 180?
- RedSea 90 ou115? They seem to have more choice in the parameter (lunar cycle for example) and more channels.

All in the same range of price. I will need 2.
In the case I will take a 150g in few years, I can just add some light?

Depends on the look for your tank as well. If you like shimmer and that real ocean look kessils or he knock offs might be way to go. If looking for just growth or the flat light look radions or the knock off nicrews might be good. I think middle between them both is the maxspects

I’m focusing on a good growth, WiFi, quiet.
In term on color, not too blue but something to put in valor the inside of the tanks without running it at 100% all the time.

With this power and the size of my tank, at witch level so I need to run them?

Depends on what your goals are, what coral you keep. You can rent or buy a par meter to be sure. But I think for a lps tank only 20%/30%. Also depends on the nr of lights. I would go for 2 as you preferably want more lights to prevent shading.

I will begin with something easy.
I just don’t want to need to buy new light in 1 year if I need more power!
I agree, I was thinking about two light for more coverage.

The A8se II Max seem really powerfull (difference between the max and the blue?)
Do you have any, the app is easy to use?

Edit: what I have difficulty to understand it is how some light cheap like this one (237€) can be good or better compare to something around 5-600€.
And how to determine the number of watt I need
