What my skimmer is doing?

How do i switch it from the wetter side? I heard wet side messes with salinity
Lower back the gate valve, but yours isn’t that wet. The salinity effect is insignificant, especially if you use 2 parts because those slowly raise salinity

I use afr
Fair enough. The salinity effect is still too small. I like it wet because it exports more and is easier to clean, but you can do what works best for you — it’s your tank. :)

In order for wet skin to affect salinity you would have to be filling up and entire cup a day and even still the volume in the cup is only like a quart at most and your tank would need to be like 40 gallons for it to be noticeable. One other two cent opinion. Out side of cleaning the pump itself your cup needs a date with a rag or mr clean bar. The inner walls of the cup neck should be cleaned every time you empty to maintain the same smoothness as the outer acrylic. Otherwise bubble pop prematurely in the neck. Leading to build up in the neck and less being collected in the cup itself.

I had a power outage for an hour, power came back on, and the skimmer is bubbling below the neck. Why would it do that after that power outage?

Is the power output the same on the skimmer controller? Maybe the controller shifted down in power?

I think that was me that suggested it. 😉

Sometimes closing the skimmer and turning it back on gets it working again. Don’t ask how. It’s happened to me a few times and surprisingly worked. It’s just a shot in the dark.
